TAUKO Magazine is a pioneering independent print publication for home sewists around the world. The vast horizon of crafts, culture and climate is featured in sewing patterns, interviews, columns, articles, tips and recommendations by international contributors.
In the No.1 issue of the TAUKO magazine, you will find chapters that highlight makers as artists, revolutionaries and designers. We enter “The Age of the Makers” with essays and columns by Orsola de Castro, Sonya Philip and Wambui Njuguna-Räisänen. Experts from different professions in the field of fashion and textile share their experience and ponder the question “Could makers revolutionise the fashion industry?” Within the pages we come to realize how important it is to find and appreciate the individual handprint of a maker. With a turn towards makerism we hope to hear the maker’s voice as a revolution to build a healing relation with the planet.
The 12 sewing patterns and detailed instructions inspire makers of all levels to start a new sewing project. Patterns are available in 9 sizes, ranging approximately 30-60" bust circumference. There are four folded paper pattern sheets included with the magazine that include the pattern pieces for the 12 patterns published in this issue.
