Dropcloth Samplers are a collection of embroidery samplers designed by Rebecca Ringquist in her Portland, Oregon studio and inspired by her love of screen-printed accidents!

Introducing the Tree Ornament Sampler! An embroidery sampler that when complete you can sew into four festive holiday ornaments. This sampler includes four tree panels and four tree trunks for you to embroider by hand. Rebecca used back stitch, couching, and french knots, but you can choose your own stitches to suit your own taste. For best results, she recommends using 3 strands of embroidery floss or size 8 perle cotton in your needles. Choose your favorite colors.

This sampler lends itself to a lot of color and sparkle—the couching around the outside is a great place to use metallic threads. Complete directions for sewing your embroidered panels into ornaments are included. 

The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.

PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.
