Blue bagru indigo hand block print Kota Doria natural dyed cotton fabric comes from the village of Bagru in Rajasthan. Artisans here have practiced the mud-resist printing technique for over 400–450 years. This fabric is created by applying a mud resist using carved wooden blocks, followed by dyeing with natural colors. After dyeing, the resist is washed away to reveal distinct patterns.

As with any hand made item, imperfections are to be expected and should be regarded as part of the charm of this piece.
Natural dyes may be unstable, consider taking dye setting measures. Gentle hand washing separately in cold water recommended. Avoid soaking. Expect some bleeding of excess dye during first wash. A handful of table salt in the first couple of washes may help set dyes.
