Silk noil or raw silk is made from the fibers leftover from traditional silk manufacturing processes making it a very sustainable option. It is soft and stable and with excellent drape and a slightly slubby texture. It is easy to wear and to sew. 

Note that the manufacturer recommends dry cleaning. We routinely wash our finished silk noil garments in cold water and hang to dry (it will dry stiff but will soften when handled). Intense colors may fade a bit if washed, particularly at the seams.
